My assignment is to design an interactive kiosk system for either a shopping center, a cinema, a hospital, or for the tourism industry. (other locations such as a music store or gaming shop are allowed)
I will design the kiosk system itself and the interactive systems and user interface.
My initial ideas are:
1)A system for finding and buying mp3's in a music store where the mp3's can be recieved directly to the users datastick, mp3 player, ipod etc.
2)A system for a supermarket where the kiosk system will create a printed route around the shop according to the users shopping list. It would also print the shopping list in the order of the route around the shop. An extra feature could be added to the supermarkets online shopping website to simply generate a code from your online shopping list that could be input to the kiosk machine in the store.
3)A PDA type device attached to the supermarket trolley handle working similar to a satnav allowing easy navigation of the store and finding of specific products.
4) A device for a shopping center that allows a product search that will bring up details and location of the stores selling that item.
